AUSSIE PRODUCERS EVADE MUMBAI TERROR ATTACK> A last-minute invite to the Indian Effie Awards spared Curious Film, Sydney EP Peter Grasse and Supersonic, Sydney producer/GM Charlton Hill a night of terror at Mumbai's Oberoi Hotel last week. The two were staying at the hotel in India's financial capital on November 27 as part of a trade delegation from the Australian state of New South Wales when rampaging gunmen went on a killing spree at the Oberoi and nine other sites popular with foreign visitors.

Around 200 people were killed and 295 were wounded in the attacks, which Indian authorities have blamed on Islamist militants from Pakistani-controlled Kashmir. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, 49-year-old Brett Gilbert Taylor, a member of the NSW trade delegation, was among the 22 foreigners killed.

"It's overwhelming to realize how much timing plays a role in your fate," said Hill. "It's good to be alive but devastating to lose one of our delegates and have had the others go through such trauma. It's very sad for Mumbai and India."

Both Hill and Grasse were given refuge at a local post-production house and later sought refuge at the American and Australian embassies. They returned to Sydney safely on Saturday, November 29.

ROEL WOUTERS STAGES A COCK FIGHT FOR NEW ZZZ MUSIC VID> While most music video directors are concerned with retaining control on set, Roel Wouters is quite happy to relinquish it. It's a theme that has not only manifested itself in his work as a graphic designer, but also in his interviews. When we featured the 32-year-old Dutch native in our annual "Directors to Watch" issue two months ago, Wouters Googled our questions and selected the most fitting search results as his answers. In his new promo "Running With the Beast" for psych-rock band zZz, Wouters ceded control by staging a series of cock fights to not only create a music video, but a series of posters and album art for the band's sophomore disc of the same name.
