He was 33 years old. Known for their hugely varied and innovative output, Shynola was founded in 1994 after Baws teamed up with Chris Harding, Richard Kenworthy and Jason Groves at Kent Institute of Art and Design. MOTHER'S DOGMATIC: FROM CART TO RESTO> Dogmatic, a Bleecker Street Park gourmet hot dog cart created by Mother's New York office is now a full-fledged gourmet sausage restaurant. Former Burger King CEO Brad Blum of BLUM Enterprises bought majority stake in the company and hopes to roll out its progressive sausage concept nationally. The first Dogmatic Gourmet Sausage System opened on East 17th Street in Manhattan on October 13. It serves five types of handcrafted sausages (grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, pork, turkey and lamb), as well as locally-sourced asparagus spears and gourmet sauces. Mother remains involved as a financial and creative partner overseeing the restaurant's design, branding and marketing.

FORTISSIMO/PSYOP MERGER FAILS> Fortissimo Acquisition Corp.'s stockholders voted down a proposal to take over New York VFX/animation outfit Psyop last week, effectively scuttling the company's plan to merge with London-based prodco Stink. Fortissimo, an Israel-based special purpose acquisition company, announced its intent to acquire $29.4 million worth of Psyop's equity back in January. In explaining Psyop's expansion plan to Boards last month, EP Justin Booth-Clibborn said, "We would form a media and content creation holding company which would own the brands underneath the Psyop and Stink umbrellas. We've worked with Stink for the last two years. [The proposed merger] is really an extension of the production partner idea."
