From the May issue: Top Directors 2010

Eight directors make our annual list of Adland's top spot helmers
Gorgeous Enterprises director Chris Palmer, one of this year's Top Directors.

The May 2010 issue of Boards featuring our annual list of the year's top directing talent is in the mail and on the interweb for your reading pleasure. This year we profile eight ad auteurs who helped take commercial creative for Barnardo's, Bud, HBO, Old Spice, Xbox and Evian, among others, to the next level.

Directors choose to make commercials for many reasons. Some treat directing advertising as a spring board into the world of feature films, for others it's a chance to experiment in short-form filmmaking. If there's one commonality between the eight directors on this list, it's their unabashed dedication to the ever-evolving commercial medium. They helped make our ad breaks a little more bearable - even entertaining - in the past year and for that reason, we salute them.
