Jon Kamen to chair inaugural Film Craft Lions jury; Kevin Roddy to chair 2010 AICP Next Awards; People moves at Firstborn, MCBD and GSD&M Idea City

Organizers of the 57th annual Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have named @radical.media chairman and CEO Jon Kamen as president of the new Film Craft Lions jury. The category will honor the quality of the direction, writing, cinematography, editing, music, sound design or animation in advertising. The rest of the Film Craft jurors are Mixer, Brazil president João Daniel Tikhomiroff, Les Producers, France president/producer François Chilot, Publicis Asia vice chairman/CCO Calvin Soh, Rattling Stick director Ringan Ledwidge and director Joe Pytka.

BBH, New York CCO Kevin Roddy will serve as judging chair for the 2010 Next Awards.

Bicoastal design and technology studio Firstborn has hired motion designer Justin Young, previously of Domani Studios and project manager and strategist Sandy Bell, previously of Poke, New York.

London-based agency MCBD has hired former BBDO, New York creative team Dan Gorlov and Rachel Le Feuvre.

Director David Gaddie and VFX supervisor James Rogers have formed of a multidisciplinary directing collective called The Colony that will specialize in VFX, design, post-production and live action. They will be repped by B-Reel Films.

Austin agency GSD&M Idea City has hired six junior creatives: Charlie Brandwick, Colin Gray, Barrett Michael, Natalie Purbrick, Emily Hoyne and Todd Nolley.

Hollywood-based prodco ka-chew! has signed directors Corky Quakenbush and Joel Trussell to its roster.

Transparent, London has signed photographer and tabletop food director Gary Bryan for global rep.

JWT has hired Ira Helf, previously of Draftfcb, New York, as director of analytics for North America.

Nice Shoes, New York has hired Travis Taylor as vice president of sales and marketing.
