Organizers of the 2010 International ANDY Awards announced the names of the 25 jurors selected via an online voting process. For the first time, the annual showcase crowdsourced the jury selection process to the public by nominating 100 people and asking creatives to vote for their favorites on the website ElectTheJury.com.

Though voters could choose non-traditional candidates, such as fashion designer Marc Jacobs and Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, the resulting jury skews heavily toward ad agency big wigs of the chief creative officer variety, from both the traditional and digital sides. The notable exceptions are graphic designer/graffiti artist Shepard Fairey, Apple creative director Mimi Cook and Tronic Studios co-founder Vivian Rosenthal. The voted lasted four weeks and the names of the winners were revealed on Monday.

ANDY Award co-chairs Ty Montague, JWT North America co-president and CCO and Michael Lebowitz, founder/CEO of digital agency Big Spaceship spearheaded the ElectTheJury.com, project in the hopes of assembling a jury that best reflects the evolving industry landscape.

"The business is in such a period of change and evolution, and we felt like award show juries in general hadn't really kept up," Montague told Boards last month. "Software, technology and design people are much more important to the future of the business than they are given credit for on most award show juries."

The deadline to submit work for the 2010 ANDY Awards is Jan. 4, 2010.
