•BOONDOGGLE PUTS GOLD LIONS TO THE TEST> Belgian agency Boondoggle took home five Gold Lions at the 2009 Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, but rather than place them on the office mantle, the creatives took the awards to diamond and gold dealers in Antwerp to find out exactly how much they're worth. No one would offer more than €5 for the replica statuettes, which they concluded are made of yellow copper. How much does Cannes charge winners for replicas of the awards? €900. •COMMERCIAL EMMY NOMINEES ANNOUNCED> Nominations for the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced in Los Angeles Thursday. And the nominees for outstanding commercial are... Hulu "Alec in Huluwood", Amex "Airport Lounge", Nike "Bottled Courage", Budweiser "Circus", Coca-Cola "Heist", Bud Light "Magazine Buyer", Careerbuilder.com "Tips" and Sprint Nextel "Wedding". New York-based Superfad has hired Anthony Nelson, formerly Senior Integrated Producer at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, as executive director.
