•AICE WINNERS ANNOUNCED> The Association of Creative Editors announced the winners of its 8th annual AICE Awards competition at a ceremony in Los Angeles last week. Rock Paper Scissors editor Angus Wall took home two awards, one in the storytelling category for Nike "Fate" and another in the national campaign category, which he shared with Terence ‘Biff' Butler, for Nike Training "Fast Forward", "Manny" and "Maria". Other winners included Kim Bica of Lost Planet (now with Arcade Edit) in the dialogue category for NBA "Win", Big Sky Editorial's Chris Franklin for Planters Peanuts "Perfume" and Peep Show's Gary Knight in the montage category for adidas Originals "House Party". •AICP NAMES THREE INTEGRATED WINNERS> Organizers of the 2009 AICP Show have announced this year's winning Integrated campaigns. The makers of each campaign will present a case study of how the campaign unfolded during The Next Awards on June 9. The winners are BBH, New York and HSI Productions' Oasis Dig Out Your Soul campaign, Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Bob Industries' There Can Only Be One for the NBA and Goodby and Psyop's Haagen Dazs HD Loves HB campaign.
•BESSIE AWARD WINNERS> The Canadian ad industry's top award show, The Bessie Awards, was held in Toronto last week. The BC Dairy Foundation and DDB Canada's campaign Must Drink More Milk won Best in Show and the Warchild Canada commercial "Do Nothing" by Toronto-based agency John St. and prodco Soft Citizen won Best in Show single. Euro RSCG Worldwide has hired former global ECD at JWT, London Fernanda Romano as global creative director, digital and experiential. She will be based in the London office to start and then move to Madrid to launch a global start-up.
Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco has hired Matt Groves, formerly a partner at London digital prodco Unit9, as director of digital development.
JWT, New York has hired creative directors Tom Christmann, Josh Kilmer-Purcell, Jim Wood, Bill Courtney, Laura Fegley and Louis-Philippe Tremblay.
LA-based editing company The Whitehouse have partnered with Kieran Walsh and Frank Devlin, formerly of Version2, to open Carbon, an integrated creative VFX and finishing house based in New York.
Bicoastal Lost Planet has added editor Nick Lofting to its roster for worldwide commercial, music video and long-form representation.
Rokkit, London has signed directors Michael Moloney and Rafael Lopez-Sorbidet.
Blinkink, London has signed director Tomas Mankovsky for UK spot rep.
Great Guns Worldwide has signed director Enda McCallion for international spot rep.
Company X, New York has added editor Lisa Mogol to its roster.
Company 3, Los Angeles has named Rhubie Jovanov as executive producer.
LA-based hello & CO has hired Sheira Rees-Davies as EP of music videos and integrated media and Line Postmyr as managing director.
Toronto-based prodco The Electric Company and post house axyz have formed a reciprocal alliance that will allow each company to access the other's design and production resources.
Avion Films, Toronto has is signed director David Hartley for Canadian spot rep.
Test Pilot, a 3D cinematic production company, has launched in Toronto. It's headed up by creative director Tony Cleave and producer Alexis Victor and will provide agencies with 3D animated test commercials for link testing and focus group surveys.
