  • JOHN "JOCK" ELLIOTT 1921-2005> John "Jock" Elliott Jr., former chairman of Ogilvy & Mather, died on Saturday Oct. 29 at the age of 84 from a cerebral hemorrhage. Elliott joined the agency in 1960 and in a matter of five years, had become its US chairman. By 1975, he succeeded agency founder David Ogilvy to become chairman of its worldwide operations, a position he would hold until his retirement in 1982. Elliott is survived by his wife, Eleanor Thomas Elliott, brother Osborn and several nieces and nephews.
  • PIKE LAUNCHES NEW PRODCO> Toronto-based prodco Reginald Pike has launched Reginaldo, an affiliate company in the US, to represent comedy directors Lena Beug (formerly art director at MTV) and Brian Lee Hughes (former Senior Art Director at TBWA Chiat/Day SF). James Davis and Josefina Nadurata (Reginald Pike, untitled) have been named EPs. Reginaldo is repped by Trevor King on the East coast, Rich Newman/Sue Rosen in the Midwest and Kira G on the West coast.

  • NODELMAN JOINS CREATIVE GROUP> Jeff Nodelman, founder and former president/CD of Noodlesoup Productions, has been named creative director in charge of animation at New York's Creative Group. Nodelman will be in charge of developing the infrastructure for Creative Group's animation studio and in addition to overseeing original properties made by Creative Group, he will also house his own portfolio within the new division.

  • SKEPPERFIENNES OPENS IN LONDON> Richard Skepper (formerly EP with Stillking's London, UK office) and commercial director Martha Fiennes (formerly repped by Academy) have launched a new London-based commercial prodco, SkepperFiennes. Skepper most recently worked on the upcoming feature The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe while Fiennes recently directed her second feature, Chromophobia, due in 2006.

  • CHELSEA AND LUSCIOUS TEAM UP FOR NEW OFFICE >Bicoastal Chelsea Pictures and Sydney-based prodco Luscious International have created a new division, Luscious@Chelsea, with Luscious directors Richard Gibson, James Holt, Michael Joy and Damien Toogood on the roster. EPs Katy Greene in LA and Andrew Morris in Sydney, along with Chelsea partners/EPs Allison Amon, Lisa Mehling and Steve Wax will manage the new division.

  • HAFNER AND GTN MAKE RINGSIDE CREATIVE> Chris Hafner, commercial editor and founder of Santa Monica-based Brass Knuckles, and post-production house GTN, Inc. have launched creative services boutique Ringside Creative, to be based in Oak Park, Michigan. Jeff Dobrow has been named CD, and the creative editor roster includes Chris Chynoweth, Charlene Dwyer and Sarah Fisher.

  • AICP PREZ ANNOUNCED> The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) has announced that Epoch Films president/co-owner Mindy Goldberg will act as chairwoman for the 15th Annual AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Television Commercial. The show debuts June 8, 2006, at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. The call for entries will be available in January.

  • STILLKING IN CHILE> Stillking Films opened a new office in Santiago, Chile in August, headed by local executive producer Bud Theisen. Most recently, the Chile office wrapped production on an 8-day shoot for Orange with UK prodco Knucklehead and director Joe Roman. Stillking also has offices in Prague, Cape Town, Barcelona, Milan, Los Angeles and London.
