Renault's ghostly car race; Honda's pinch-hit

Car souls rally for the prize, Honda visits the zoo

GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY > Dynamic UK directorial duo Dom & Nic and post-production hotspot Framestore CFC, having combined their talents on the "Hector's Life" spot for Renault as well as The Chemical Brothers' "Believe" video, work more automotive magic with this electrifying ad for the Renault Clio. Ghostly shells of clunkers rise from the junkyard and course through the air of a cityscape in a dizzying rush of color and speed, interspersed with shots of a snazzy new Clio weaving through traffic. The race culminates with one of the heaps entering the body of the Clio, giving a whole new spin to reincarnation. Framestore CFC's 3D team takes pole position with this treatment - extra points for using The Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog" for the soundtrack.

THE ELEMENT TALKS TO THE ANIMALS > In this series of six spots, directed by Wild Brain's Gordon Clark (Nike's "Destination Moon" among others) and written by RPA's Adam Lowrey, the Honda Element chats with a variety of animals, ranging from a bunion-afflicted rabbit to a humble platypus (who admits he's "a bit of a hodgepodge"). Animation that's decidedly lo-fi and witty repartee between auto and animal makes for a clever series, with our favourite of the batch being "Crab" (we predict "I pinch!" will be a catch phrase amongst many of you within minutes of seeing the spot).
