Fallon names co-CDS

Camp and Taylor replace Bildsten

Following last week's departure of Bruce Bildsten, Fallon, Minneapolis announced the appointment of co-creative directors Roger Camp and Mark Taylor to replace the outgoing executive creative director.

Camp, 35, comes to Fallon from Wieden + Kennedy, Portland where he was creative director on Electronic Arts, Miller Brewing, Nike, Amazon.com and Diet Coke. Taylor, 32, joins the agency from Crispin Porter + Bogusky where he was an art director and worked on projects such as the creation of Subservient Chicken for Burger King, the Cannes Grand Prix-winning IKEA "Lamp and the launch of the Mini campaign.

Executive creative director Paul Silburn says both Camp and Taylor are "likeminded people who have the same objectives [as we do]. They break convention and embrace both traditional and non-traditional ways of thinking. They're people who can, through their work and actions, command respect, bring enthusiasm and inspire people."

While Camp and Taylor, who only just met weeks prior to the announcement, will share the co-creative director title, the two will be responsible for separate accounts and will work closely with each other and Silburn in leading the creative department.

Camp says that Fallon's rep as a leader with new media streams, such as BMW Films, was what drew him and his family from a five-year stay in Portland. As for Taylor, the opportunity to work with Silburn and Fallon, plus the challenge of creative leadership and visionary role lured him from Miami and an agency he was "immensely happy" at. "This opportunity was intriguing so it was a no-brainer," Taylor says by phone from his Miami home, which narrowly escaped damage from Hurricane Katrina.

Both Camp and Taylor join the agency in September, and both are reluctant about the Minneapolis winter. Says Camp: "I'm scared to death, but this is going to be a great opportunity. Though I think I'm going to need a parka."
