Bikini unveils triple-breasted delight for Kenco

London-based Bikini Films has uncovered a new campaign for Kenco coffee showing a triple-breasted femme flashing her delights to two passengers as she passes by a bus in the American wilderness.

Directed by Martin Granger through the Bikini/A Band Apart combo, the spot displays solid casting in unison with a new branding strategy for Kenco as shaped by copywriter Trevor De Silva and art director Paul White of JWT, London. Agency producer on the job was Paul Fenton.

Granger, who shot the spot over two days along a stretch of road in Palmdale, California, says: "Re-branding Kenco with weird humor was definitely a lot of fun, especially when boobs come into the picture."

"Eyeful" opens on two dudes riding on a bus across America. One guy is fast asleep, drooling in REM as he leans against his upbeat buddy goofing around and taking photos of himself and the landscape as it passes by. Suddenly an old convertible with three delicious babes pulls by their side - one seductress lifts up her top to reveal three succulent breasts bobbing in the breeze. The overwhelmed youth awakens his slobbering companion in an excited panic...but the moment has passed for the snoozer as the car zooms off. All to say that caffeine keeps you lively enough to catch any adventurous escapade in the wilderness of life.

Granger appreciates the creative sensibility of the spot but notes that the campaign's humor is based on a British mindset:

"This is a spot with a specific British sense of humor," explains Granger on the commercial, initially set for viral release in the UK. "There's a sense of irony in British television with a long tradition of comedy in the vein of Monty Python and its clan. Even Withnail & I didn't make the transition over to the US and that's a real litmus test. British humor is dark and black. This spot was even cut by a Brit [Ben Longland, Rock Paper, Scissors, LA]"

As for the casting it was imperative for Granger to find two lads with a specific UK flavor for UK audiences. "We had to cast British-looking guys but half the job was done with make up and hair," say Granger on the Brit factor. "The funniest part was when we changed positions during the actual shoot; the guy sleeping in the spot was actually flat out snoring when we re-set the cameras. We couldn't have cast it better."

Cinematographer Jo Molitoris did a stellar job capturing natural light, something Granger was seeking amid the bright sunshine of California. "Nothing bugs me more than over lighting on these kind of jobs," admits Granger. "Jo really worked wonders keeping the pallette smooth."

The only problems encountered lay in daily afternoon dust storms that hit the crew unawares - but the production wised up on day two by commencing the action bright and early in the morning to get the footage required.

Granger has an upcoming job through A Band Apart in a couple of weeks; a Kellogg's job though Leo Burnett, Chicago. The director is repped by Avion in Canada in addition to A Band Apart in the US and Bikini in the UK and Europe.
