405 Guys Land at A Band Apart

A Band Apart has signed Web filmmakers Bruce Branit and Jeremy Hunt for commercial and music video representation.

Branit and Hunt are the directors behind 405, a three-minute short in which a DC-10 lands on a Los Angeles freeway. Since posting their short on 405themovie.com in June, the site has received over a million hits.

"They are definitely innovators," says A Band Apart president and CEO Michael Bodnarchek. "They are the first directing team to enjoy incredible success from a film on the Internet."

Bodnarchek says his company has been monitoring shorts posted on the Web in an effort to determine whether it is a viable resource for tapping directorial talent.

In addition to inking a deal with ABAC, Branit and Hunt are represented by CAA. They are no strangers to the filmmaking process. As visual effects artists, they have worked on TV shows such as The X-Files and Star Trek: Voyager.
