Bud's Neighbors Spot Breaks In Game Three
by: Oct 28, 1999 Print

During game three of the World Series, a Budweiser spot from A Band Apart Director Wayne Isham broke, showing Isham's trademark blend of commercial and music video techniques. The 30-second "Neighbors" spot, came out of DDB Needham, Chicago.

The spot captures a slice of street-life, as a fireman, policeman, flowerman, and pizza-maker named "Sal" combine their efforts to make a pizza while "Maria" strikes a pose on the corner. Nested zooms, "cg-effected" swish pans and time lapse photography give it a pop culture feel.

Isham's recent A Band Apart commercial credits include the Pepsi's "World Cup" commercial through Dieste & Partners in Dallas, TX, and Bacardi's Latin America spot "World Passion" out of McCann-Erickson, Puerto Rico. The director also shot Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" video.
