Eurobest 2009 award winners announced
Philips "Carousel" and Canal+ "Closet" share Grand Prix honors

The European ad community celebrated the year's best commercial creativity last Friday at Eurobest, the region's largest advertising awards and festival. Stink Digital and Tribal DDB, Amsterdam added another Grand Prix to their mantelpieces for the crime caper Philips "Carousel", which scooped the Cannes film Grand Prix in June. The interactive web film shared Grand Prix honors in the TV/cinema category with another action-oriented spot, the Matthijs van Heijningen-directed Canal+ "Closet" from BETC Euro RSCG, Paris.
In an evening when Belgian and German agencies took the lions share of top awards (each taking 49 apiece), Happiness, Brussels' quirkily fun Toyota IQ campaign, which featured a font designed by the car itself, took the interactive Grand Prix and the agency also won Interactive Agency Of The Year honors.
Ogilvy, France was named Eurobest Agency of the Year, in part for its Scrabble campaign, which picked up a Grand Prix in the inaugural Craft category. The Network of the Year award went to DDB; while the inaugural Advertiser of the Year gong went to Guinness.
