Amp "Walk Of No Shame">We've all been there before: the morning after the night before. Waking up next to last night's 10 - now a seven - and feeling like an irate skunk is trying to painfully crawl its way out of your skull through your mouth. And then, of course, the walk of shame. Taking this disheveled, tired, guilty universal truth, BBDO spins it to create an irreverent, ridiculous musical number for energy drink Amp. Tim Godsall's casting hits the right notes, with its guy/gal next door, and adds just the right oddball flourishes to make this a demographic home run.

Petronas "Tan Hong MinG">We can be a jaded bunch here at Boards, but every so often an ad genuinely touches us. Leo Burnett, Kuala Lumpur's sweet "Tan Hong Ming" for Petronas, promoting the subject of racial harmony, is simple: young Chinese boy Tan is interviewed, shyly professing his secret love for a Malay girl, who then reveals she likes him too. The wonderful, guileless joy on innocent Tan's face beautifully transcends mawkishness, illustrating its point more effectively than any didactic ad ever could. All together now: "Awww".

Orange "Rewind City">A clever, but potentially cheesy conceit from Publicis Conseil for Orange's Rewind TV - a Goan town "rewinds" to bring a backpacker's boyfriend back to her - is brought to life with charm by Ringan Ledwidge. He elicits genuine pathos from the opening shot of the emotional girl, alone in the hustle and bustle of a foreign country, before a cab driver takes pity and rewinds reality. Ledwidge's subtle touch deftly captures little moments of comedy and changes the tone from alien to amicable with the gentle silliness of the in-camera rewind. A clever, whimsical story, well-told.

Budweiser "Jam">After years of imported American humor, Budweiser UK's move to Fallon, London sees the brand take an altogether different tack from what was perceived as boorish jock humor. What could have been cringeworthy to a skeptical British audience - essentially, a band plays its instruments with Bud bottles - is instead expertly helmed by Harmony Korine. Casting real musicians and using an improv documentary-style, Korine mines Southern America's rich and authentic musical heritage, capturing a simple jam spliced with madcap slices of southern-fried life.

SENSOA "THE FIRST GAY">From the second an older English gent in purple robe and cravat bursts out of the closet with a flourish, proclaiming himself the inventor of homosexuality, you know that "The First Gay", for Flemish STD prevention institution Sensoa, isn't your average PSA. Dark rooms? Gay porn? "I invented them," our guide proudly announces. The charismatically campy lead and his sly send-ups of sexual mores matched to suggestive double-entendres make for unpreachy, liberated comedy, while never losing sight of the 'Love Life. Use a Condom' message.
