Randy Cohen, vice president, director of broadcast, at kirshenbaum bond + partners, died peacefully on April 25, after a battle with cancer. He was 49 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Mikaela and his former wife, Suzi Cohen.
Cohen worked at kbp for ten years across the agency's accounts including Wendy's, John Frieda, Panasonic and Liberty Mutual. He is remembered by colleagues as a warm, funny and supportive colleague with a great spirit and love for life.
"Randy always exhibited great intelligence, calm and humor," said kbp co-chairman Richard Kirshenbaum. "He was someone we could all count on to get it done with grace and style."
A graduate of Baruch College, Cohen went on to work at Deutsch for seven years before becoming a freelance agency producer, working with agencies including Wieden + Kennedy, Publicis, Elser & Aucone, and Jones Films.
In honor of Cohen, kpb has established the Randy Cohen Production Internship, a summer program beginning this June to help mentor and support young professionals interested in broadcast and production, two subjects that fueled Cohen's creativity and passion.
"Everything he touched seemed easier than it was because of his hard work and base of knowledge," remarked Kirshenbaum. "He will be greatly missed."
