Too often, branded web initiatives skew heavily toward the branded element at the expense of the art. That's not the case with Getty Images' 10 Ways To Interact. Featuring specially-commissioned contributions from five different forward-thinking design houses, the project is a refreshingly heady meditation on communication and visual language that could easily siphon entire hours from your day. Launched in June, the project features two contributions each from Sumona, The Barbarian Group, Tomato, Less Rain and Great Works, with each work aiming to translate a single-word concept like 'light', 'memory', 'color', 'emotion' and 'truth' into a visual language. Boasting some ingenious Flash design, the pieces play out like interactive art installations, each one with a tactile user interface that rewards exploration while still remaining true to its central concept. Our favorites include Sumona's 'Information', The Barbarian Group's 'Memory' and Tomato's 'Emotion', but they're all worth your time, especially if a surfeit of celebrity blogs has you in dire need of proper brainfood.
