JUST THE FACTS: Age - 29; Hometown - San Anselmo, CA; Education - Film at NYU; Employ - with Rock Paper Scissors for just over a year.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Armed with some PA experience and a few personal project credits, Murphy graduated from NYU in 2001. "The next month was September 11, and all the jobs went away," he remembers. "It was like 'Holy shit, what the hell am I gonna do?'" Murphy sustained himself by freelancing and apprenticing at Cosmo Street before eventually moving to LA in 2004 to assist Kirk Baxter at RPS.

WHAT HE LOVES MOST ABOUT THE JOB: The Zen before the storm. "When no one's watching, there's a playfulness that happens in the first few hours you're sitting there. You really get to know everything - I find it calming."

BEST WORK: "Games" - a loose, doc-style spot about a visual artist for shoemaker Pony. "In terms of editors and people who deal with editorial, it has definitely gotten the best reaction of anything." He's also displayed skill at quick sports edits with Nike "Slam" and disciplined timing with EA Sports "Rest Up".
