Agustin Alberdi, Landia/Carbo Films

Finalist: Directors

JUST THE FACTS: Age - 29; Hometown - Puerto Madryn, Argentina; Education - cinema program, University of Buenos Aires; Employ - repped by Landia (Latin America) and Carbo (US) since 2004.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Alberdi first brought his keen visual sense to graphic design, working with Elle, MTV and VH1. A penchant for globetrotting and new experiences brought him to directing spots via Buenos Aires-based prodco Landia, where he has helmed, occasionally in collaboration with head director Andy Fogwill, award-winning spots for VH1 (the FBA entry "Parents Day", Alberdi's contribution to a campaign shared with Fogwill) and Perry Ellis.

BEST WORK: The aforementioned VH1 "Parent's Day" for Miami's La Comunidad won the Grand Prix at FIAP 2005, Best In Show at the NY Festival and a Silver Lion at Cannes. The spot, featuring a lion-maned rocker attending a PTA meeting with flashpots and bulge-enhancing spandex in tow, is a prime example of what Alberdi says he does best - "putting people into different environments or situations." Recently, Alberdi helmed jobs for Wendy's and a worldwide Fanta campaign.

LEAST FAVORITE PART OF THE JOB: "Conference calls - I like to talk to people face to face."
