Do the Shanghai Shuffle

It was only a matter of time. Shuffle of Venice, CA, and Tokyo, Japan, has opened an office in China, to facilitate commercial production in that country. Is that nation ready to let in the advertising hordes? Apparently, yes. And while the infrastructure is immature, "a TV spot that would cost $1 million in the USA would only cost about $200,000 in China," said Yuki Matsumoto, founder and CEO. According to Shuffle, its contacts with Chinese government officials should allow speedy securing of locations and filming permits, as well as helping with local culture, customs, and languages.

No China credits yet, but Shuffle Tokyo recently serviced Nitten-Alti Productions, also of Tokyo, on two TV spots for a Japanese Medical Cosmetic Surgery Center. Both were filmed in Phuket, Thailand.
