+ Toronto prodco Radke Films will officially open its Vancouver office in August, also serving as the West Coast outpost for sister company Steam. Michael Haldane will relocate to head up operations as executive producer. Dan Ford, formerly of LTB Productions and Trailer Park Films, will assume the role of Steam EP.
+ Post-production house Gorilla Post opened in Santa Monica to service both music videos and commercials. The company's mandate is to service clients one job at a time, working within the allocated budget, says exec producer Miggel Schwickerath. Gorilla's roster includes flame artists Simon Scott and Michael Vaglienty, plus CGI artists Steward Burris and Gunslinger.
+ In Soho, London, One Post opened a new motion control and VFX studio. The new digs hold a collection of new camera lenses and lighting equipment, as well as computerized model movers.
+ New York's Sideshow, a 'concept to completion' creative services company, opened an office in Los Angeles, as the result of increased work from the LA television industry. It will be led by creative director Brian Briskman.
+ The New VI, part of the CHUM Television family, launched commercial production unit Pandora's Box Productions, Victoria, BC. Doug Slack was appointed manager of the newly-formed company, which will capitalize on the station's creativity and cutting-edge technology to form and lead a complete creative shop.
+ RipTide Films has sought higher ground by relocating. The commercial film company, helmed by former VP of Tapestry Productions Andre Marcell, has relocated to larger offices in Chelsea, NY.
