An identity for ABC and a main title/graphics package for the VH1 program Late World with Zach have earned Hollywood-based Troika Design Group a place in the Smithsonian's New York design exhibit.
The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum's "National Design Triennial: Inside Design Now" exhibition - which runs from Apr. 22 until Jan. 25, 2004 - showcases designs from architecture, fashion and textiles, industrial, interior, landscape, and graphic and broadcast design.
The museum reportedly picked Troika's 1998-2001 network identity package as "one of the best examples of contemporary design for mass media", citing the work as "modern in the very best sense; simple, clean, fun and smart."
Troika was the only US motion graphics firm to be included in the exhibit. "It's a great honor for us to be representing the broadcast design world," says Troika, group creative director and founding partner Dan Pappalardo.
