Among tipsy, well-attired colleagues, Toronto agency Downtown Partners took a string of Golds at the 2002 Bessie Awards.
Their spot "Sin & Sentimentality," for Labatt took Best of Show and won director Martin Granger (Avion Films) and writer David Chiavegato (co-founder of the Bud Light Institute with Rich Pryce-Jones) Best of Series awards. Two Downtown Partners Budweiser campaigns for Anheuser-Busch also won golds. The Best of Show award for a campaign went to Toronto's Bensimon Byrne D'Arcy for their CFL campaign. Three spots show rabid football fans rooting for their teams in less than amenable circumstances. Wade Sherman of Spy Films directed.
Also of note, former Boards employee Jason Locey won the student prize for Best Commercial Script. Big ups Locey!
