Freelance broadcast production departments Companies She Stockholm and Resource Film are opening up creative and international production solutions for small Scandinavian agencies.
Launched by former Mod Film producers Alexandra Flink and Leila Falkenberg in September 2000, She Stockholm has established itself as a company linking production companies and agencies.
With agencies as their clients, Flink and Falkenberg assist creative and account teams in producing the best commercials to suit both scripts and budgets. While negotiating talent buyouts, music rights and budgets are central roles, connecting a project with an appropriate director is a key part of She's work.
"Usually when a production company gets a script, you have just a couple of weeks before the shoot. She helps to prepare the rights, budgets and use the money in the best way. A lot of agencies need this help. A lot of people think agency producers just look at budgets and we do go into agencies being budget bitches, but we see the whole picture," says Flink. "Budgets are so low these days, so we try to do commercials in the most creative way we can. We negotiate together to make productions smoother, being good middle people between agencies and production companies."
Thanks in no small part to their international connections from their Mod Film days, She Stockholm has produced jobs with Acne, Traktor, Stink, Epa International, Bob Film, Mekano, Stark Films, EFTI, Forsberg & Co., PAR and Gorgeous Films, working with agencies including Ronnberg McCann, Bomberos and Hennes & Mauritz.
Also, She now represents DP's Crille Forsberg, Ulf Brantås, Stefan Kullänger, Eric Maddison and Jacob Jorgensson as well as offline editor Håkan Wärn. "We like to network worldwide both ways, finding Scandinavian talent for agencies outside of Scandinavia and also organizing for production companies to shoot in Sweden," says Flink.
