@radical.media suffered the loss of director Jonas Frick, 38, who died suddenly in New York on Dec. 22, 2001. Frick had directed through @radical.media for two and a half years.

"Jonas was one of those guys that you just loved having around. He was always smiling and he just loved what he did," says @radical's Frank Scherma. "You'd see him in the lunchroom working on a treatment on his computer that he was always excited about. He just had this passion for directing and he was one of those kinds of guys that it just spread when you were around him."

Frick had planned to return to his native Sweden for Christmas. A pre-existing heart condition, further complicated by a respitory illness, proved to be the ultimate cause of death.

"I gave him a hug Thursday night and wished him a Merry Christmas and said I'd see him after the holidays," recalls Scherma.

Funeral services for Jonas Frick were held in Sweden on Jan. 14, 2002.
