Warp Records, the label home for such electronic music nutters as Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Boards of Canada, has launched Warp Films.
A key collaborator with Warp Films is Chris Cunningham, the renegade director behind bizarre clips such as Aphex's "Windowlicker" and Squarepusher's "Come on my Selecta." Cunningham, who works through RSA/Blackdog for spots and videos, is directing the first of the Warp Films, a short entitled "Spectral Musicians" that is slated for DVD release in March 2002.
Warp Films is run as a separate company from Warp Records and is overseen by joint managing directors Iram Quraishi and Steve Becket, with Ged Dey acting as technology director.
