In an effort to expand its global operations, Wild Brain Inc. has launched Munich-based subsidiary Wild Trixx Media GmbH.
The goal of Wild Brain's new arm is to attract European animation, television, film, Internet and commercial work.
"There's a big market for animation in Germany and Europe in general," says Steve Ramirez, VP Marketing Business Development at Wild Brain.
"In the past, we've had lots of inquiries for potential commercial work [in Europe] but have had no one on the ground to deal with it," he continues.
That's where Wild Trixx managing director Curtis Briggs comes in. "Curtis has a strong background in a variety of businesses, so we've got the basis for a dynamic team over there." Ramirez says.
When asked why Wild Brain chose Munich as their European center, Ramirez's answer was two-fold. "Many major European media business are based in Munich. Plus, we just happened to know a great guy who lived there," he says of Briggs.
As for a further European invasion, Ramirez says they're "Taking it slow."
"London is pretty high on the agenda but after that, between Germany and the UK, I think we'll be OK."
