After working out of temporary space for nearly a year, Final Cut New York has moved into its permanent space.
Six Avid suites in New York now complement the company's original London facility; high speed links between the two offices allow trans-Atlantic collaboration on a variety of projects. Stephanie Apt continues as the Managing director in New York; editors in the facility include Kirk Baxter, Duncan Shepherd and Carlos Arias, as well as two transplants from the London offices, Gary Knight and Adam Jenkins (winner of the 2001 best new editor Boards Award).
"The success of the New York operation exceeded our wildest dreams," says Final Cut MD Greg Caplan.
"And moving Final Cut New York into its permanent space has been the culmination of a lot of time and effort. Now our editors on both sides of the Atlantic can truly work in either city with all of the resources they expect around them."
Already, Final Cut New York has cut spots for Sony, Mercedes, American Express and Volvo as well as clips for Tricky, Erykah Badu and Ricky Martin. Total billings for Final Cut London and New York are estimated at US$ 10 million. Next up for the company is the opening of a Los Angeles office.
