AMV.BBDO, London and Argentine directing combo Peluca have created a two spot campaign for BT Internet.
"Ball" and "Puppy" tread retro-kitsch territory familiar to Peluca (repped in the UK by the Brave Film Company).
"It's all about comparing a ball and then a puppy with the Internet and it talks about the time restrictions," says Luciano Podcaminsky of Peluca. "The announcer says 'Let's imagine this ball is the Internet, you want to play with it whenever you choose but you have forgotten the time restrictions.' Both commercials show a worried father trying to avoid having the kids play with the ball or the puppy, because the Internet is very expensive. After that, a big man in a black suit with the BT internet logo on the back brings the ball and the puppy back home. The puppy and the ball turns into a computer and the family begins to surf very happily."
Shot in London and Essex, the spots are flavored with a seventies grade and art direction. Creatives on the spots were copywriter Ben Kay and art director Cameron Blackley. Peluca are currently shooting a Danone campaign for Y&R Argentina and bidding on a project out of WCRS London.
