Ricagni Opens Babilonya

Director Leonardo Ricagni has launched New York-based production company, Babilonya.Ricagni opened Babilonya with his longtime producer Mimi Casanova in the same New York space used by his former US production company, Basecamp. Ricagni is no longer affiliated with Basecamp, although Casanova says the end of the relationship was amicable. She serves as producer and creative partner in the new company.

"The intention is for Babilonya to grow at this moment in time, focusing on doing international commercials, feature film development and any other interesting projects we can find," says Casanova, likening the new company to Spike Lee's Forty Acres and a Mule. "Any international work, European or Latin American, is dealt with through Babilonya."

Babilonya is repped by First Look Media in the US and Canada.
