London's Gorgeous Enterprises has signed a deal with bicoastal Anonymous to have its directors represented in the US.
The deal signals the amicable end of Gorgeous' three-year-old deal with Creative Management Partners and the London production company's desire for more US work in commercials and other areas. Directors represented by Gorgeous (and now Anonymous) are Frank Budgen, Chris Palmer, Peter Thwaites and Tom Carty. Other directors repped by Anonymous are David Fincher, David Kellogg, David Denneen, Andrew Douglas, Jeffery Plansker, Mark Romanek, Gore Verbinski, Malcolm Venville, Hammer & Tongs, Andrea Giacobbe, John Curran, John Dolan, Martin Weisz, Brett Morgan & Nanette Burstein, and John Frankenheimer. Also, Stephane Sednaoui recently joined Anonymous, coming over to the company from Propaganda.
Andy Traines, executive producer for Anonymous says there are currently no plans to have Anonymous directors repped by Gorgeous in the UK. He describes how the deal came together: "Steve Golin and Jim Tauber have known and admired the work of the Gorgeous directors for years. It was a simple matter of the time being right for both companies. Talks began and the rest followed. Both companies appeal to the highest end of the business in both the US and UK markets. A great filmmaker is a great filmmaker regardless of his or her home base. It is our privilege to represent the directors of Gorgeous and our aim is to procure them American work worthy of their stature as leaders in our field."
