Black Logic Expands CG Department
by: Feb 1, 2001 Print

New York--based visual effects, production and animation studio Black Logic has assembled five 3D artists to add to its CG department.

The new staff members are senior animator Scott Petill, technical director Sebastian Bilbao, CG artists Julio Soto and Andrew Dayton, and visual effects animator Glenn Harper.

Petill arrives from New York-based Post Perfect where his CG animation was featured in both broadcast and print for clients BMW, Texas Instruments, Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Volvo. Bilbao arrives after a two-year stint as technical director at Pacific Ocean Post in Santa Monica, working on long-form and film effects with projects including Armageddon and Judgment Day. His previous work at Santa Monica-based Dubai saw him create CG effects and opening title sequences for Alien Resurrection.

Soto brings a European flavor to the unit after studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts before venturing on to New York to wrestle with his MFA at the Pratt Institute. Dayton arrives after two seasons on HBO's A Little Curious Children's Show produced through New York-based Curious Pictures in addition to the title sequence for the movie You've Got Mail. Harper rounds off the impressive troop with a background in CG animation and engineering.
