Quasar Films, S.A., headquartered in Madrid, is in the process of opening new production facilities in southern Spain. Factory Producciones, a production services company owned by Quasar, will open facilities in Marbella in the Costa del Sol region. Additional production facilities will also begin operating in the Canary Islands.

Bruce Sinclair, represented by Madrid- and Barcelona-based Tesauro, shot a three-commercial campaign for Iberia, the largest airline in Spain. Shot in Barcelona, the spots use babies to illustrate key points in the soon-to-be-privatized airline's image campaign. All of the spots begin with one baby, followed by camera moves that reveal the children are seated in an intricate pattern; one commercial shows the children sitting in a giant-size paper airplane, and another pulls back and out to reveal that several children are seated in a pattern resembling a jumbo jet. The most complex of the commercials begins in the same manner, but pulls back to reveal the children are arranged to represent a map of the entire planet. Post-production was done at Telson in Madrid. The campaign was created by Foote Cone & Belding/Tapsa in Madrid.

Madrid-based Propaganda Producciones recently filmed a commercial for the Spanish government's Ministerio Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales (Ministry of Work and Social Issues). Filmed on location in Madrid by Plácido Castaño, the commercial delivers a moral message focused on promoting equality between men and women in the workplace and in family situations. The agency was Publicís, Madrid.

Ramses Albiñana, represented by Albiñana Films, Barcelona, has recently completed filming two commercials. The first, for petroleum company Campsa, was filmed for Spanish agency Federico Valmorisco y Ochoa in Barcelona. The second, a 30-second spot for Famitel, was shot via Tandem, Madrid.

Estudios Pirámide, Barcelona, completed a three-spot campaign for the Spanish National Lottery. The three commercials - "Verdugo," "Vikingos" and "Paracaidista" ("Executioner," "Vikings" and "Parachutist") - were filmed on location in Peñeranda del Duero (Burgos), Segovia and Madrid. Quim Lorente was director, and the agency was Publicís, Madrid.
